Indulge in Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread: The Ultimate Comfort Food

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • For the Cheesy Bread:
    • 1 loaf of Italian or French bread
    • 1 pound of thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin works great)
    • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 cup provolone cheese (or Cheez Whiz)
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

How to Make Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread

Step 1: Sauté the Vegetables and Beef

  1. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Cook the Vegetables: Add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they’re soft and slightly caramelized.
  3. Add the Beef: Push the veggies to the side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced beef. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Stir everything together to combine.

Step 2: Prepare the Bread

  1. Slice the Bread: Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. If you prefer, you can also hollow out some of the inside of the bread to make more room for the filling.
  2. Fill the Bread: Generously spoon the beef and vegetable mixture onto the bread halves. Top with provolone cheese or Cheez Whiz, making sure to cover the filling completely.

Step 3: Bake to Perfection

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake: Place the cheesy bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is crispy.

I often find that it tastes even better the next day as the flavors meld together! Enjoy your delicious creation and the smiles it brings!
