  • 1 pound pizza dough or bread dough Store-bought or homemade; smooth, elastic texture, room-temperature for easy stretching
  • 3 Tbsp butter, melted Alternatively use olive oil for a lighter version; buttery richness in every bite
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced Or use 1 tsp garlic powder; fresh garlic brings aromatic warmth and savoury depth
  • 1-1.5 cups shredded mozzarella More or less depending on how cheesy you like it; gooey, stringy cheese pull
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (optional) Adds salty, nutty top-note that elevates the flavour profile
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning For a savoury, herb-infused finish — aromatic and colourful
  • to taste salt & black pepper Enhances all flavours
  • fresh parsley, chopped (optional) For garnish; bright green and fresh, adds visual pop

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment. If using store-bought dough, let it rest at room temperature briefly.
  • Roll or stretch dough into a rectangular shape on a lightly floured surface. Transfer to prepared baking sheet.
  • Melt butter and stir in minced garlic (or garlic powder), salt, and pepper. Brush evenly over dough and sprinkle oregano or Italian seasoning.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan (if using) evenly over dough. Bake 10-15 minutes until crust is golden, cheese melted, and edges crisp.
  • Remove from oven and let sit 1-2 minutes. Slice into ~1" wide breadsticks. Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Serve with marinara sauce or garlic butter for dipping. For extra crispness, place baking sheet one rack lower in oven for last 2 minutes. These breadsticks are best enjoyed immediately.
