This Maid-Rite sliders recipe recreates the iconic Midwest loose meat sandwich with juicy, savory ground beef, tangy seasoning, and soft slider buns finished with a glossy butter-mustard topping. Perfect for parties, weeknight dinners, or game day spreads, these sliders deliver nostalgic diner flavor in under 40 minutes.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and minced onion, breaking the meat apart constantly until finely crumbled but not browned.
Add water and crumble in the beef bouillon cube. Stir until dissolved and simmer gently, keeping the meat loose and tender.
Stir in cider vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes until juicy but not soupy.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place bottom slider buns in a baking dish and spoon meat evenly over them. Add pickles and cheese, then top with remaining buns.
Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Brush generously over the tops of the buns.
Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 5 minutes until golden and glossy.
Notes
For the most authentic Maid-Rite texture, avoid browning the beef. Serve immediately while warm.
